I’m Geneviève Ishtar, the artist and designer behind Inspired Eclectics. My work is a dialog between architecture, geometry, and the natural world — patterns discovered, refined, and revealed through light.
In my studio, I translate these inspirations into lanterns, wall art, jewelry, and custom pieces designed to be lived with — creations that bring presence and harmony into everyday spaces.
I’ve built a style rooted in both tradition and innovation. My inspirations draw from the legacies of Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Sullivan, Ernest and Arnold Batchelder, Greene & Greene et al whose work reminds me that function and beauty are inseparable.
Each piece begins with an idea ~ sometimes a sketch pulled from an architectural motif, a fragment of nature that sparks a new pattern. A whirlwind of flowers on a breezy Chicago day. Many are one-of-a-kind, shaped by the interplay of light and material.

I see design as a way of translating rhythm into form — the quiet order of geometry, the curve of a branch, the balance of light and shadow. Every piece I create is an invitation to notice these patterns in daily life, to live with them not as decoration but as a presence that inspires calm and connection.
Inspired Eclectics grew out of a lifelong love of craft and design history. My studio is a place where architectural legacies meet modern making, where sketches evolve into objects that carry both tradition and innovation. It’s not just a workspace but a creative laboratory, shaping ideas into tangible expressions of artistry.
I approach each piece with a respect for material and detail. Sustainable wood veneers become my canvas, allowing me to explore intricate motifs without waste. Through careful cutting, finishing, and layering, I shape designs that respond to light — changing subtly throughout the day, just as nature does.
